Angry Freeze and Resets in Windows 7 WITH 128GB RunCore IV Pro SSD

Ok, so I've got everything working except this freeze and rebooting problem, I'm SO CLOSE! Thanks for all your help, it's been amazing. But now I need a little more help.

About once every 2 hours the OQO Model 02+ that I upgraded to a Runcore Pro IV 128GB SSD, freezes, and or just resets and then the logs show a crash.

So I'm getting other errors but the main one is

"The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first"

I don't think it's overheating, I have it lying down but on 2 elevating sticks.

Does anyone think it could be the RunCore SSD? maybe I need a firmware update, or maybe the SSD just needs to be replaced. Has anyone else ever heard of an OQO Model 02+ just rebooting?

It's also having problems booting, it'll jump to PXE Network boot, and not boot to windows 7 sometimes. So I think the problem is with the SSD. It's messing up and just not reading right some times.

Any ideas?

That doesn't sound like a Windows message, so maybe it's with the BIOS or SSD. Don't you have another drive to try? (hdd or ssd) I upgaded to a Samsung SLC SSD 64GB about a year ago but made sure it was the right one for the OQO. Check the forum posts about Runcore (including OQOTalk). There was a lot of talk about one brand that they were saying was defective and the (Runcore?) rep kept saying it's been fixed.

As Ronc suggested, swap to another drive to isolate the problem. I had to upgrade the firmware on my Runcore 64GB Pro IV SSD to get it to sleep/hibernate properly with my OQO model o2. I have no idea whether the Runcore 128GB is compatible with a model 2+. Most folks don't have either and you might be the only one on your continent with both . Good luck.

Need to talk to EC and see if your OQO is set to "SSD" might the EC be attempting to pass the park command to the HD? Just a guess but grab the 2plus tools and run flags and take a look.

Has your bios and EC been upgarded ?
I have no problem running ssd so far...i have the same runcore 128gb as you do..

if you have another laptop using ZIF adapter...try it on that as well..
mine just died couple days and i think its the ssd itself has some issues..

Seems contradictory. I suppose you mean the bad ssd doesn't work anywhere else either so you have no problems with a good one? How many have you tried so far?

Actually, I think I just ended up a bad unit. Sorry for the confusion.
The bios detected and runs extremely smooth, but somehow the SSD unit itself die. I have swap to another PC for testing and it proves to be a RUNCORE's problem..so mine just went in for service.

I have also tested the SLC Mtron, that one is extremely snappy. However space is very limited (32gb), it will be in some trouble if you have all your stuff in it when traveling.

That's all I have tested so far, aftermarket wise. (I have a SSD 2+, but that one is rather slow)

I never made it to work..i finally got another 2+ act as a spare parts machine..
I have swap out the logic board..and I found out the it was the digitizer got messed up from using the newer touchscreen software that i posted here ages ago..

swapping it out and it works perfectly with existing DVT vga controller board (as the one I got was either a evt or the later stage evt 1/2...

I dare not to try it again unless I have spare digitizer to mess with..you got anybody in town that can reflash it?
